‘Patience’
A coastal brown bear waits patiently for salmon at Brooks Falls, Alaska. His story is that of patience and perseverance – he had his eyes on the prize and never gave up. I wanted to showcase that through this long exposure.

‘Emerald Eyes’
The two-striped forest pitviper, known locally as “loro machacho,” is perhaps the most feared species in Peru. This snake is at home in the treetops, able to anchor itself in place with its prehensile tail. Locals tell exaggerated tales of these snakes intentionally falling from the canopy to strike those passing by.

‘A Majestic King’
As our group prepared to leave the Maasai Mara, we drove slowly through the open plains when out of a solitary bush walks this majestic lion and his son. The setting sun provided the perfect opportunity to capture this portrait of a king.

‘The Long Drink’
Giraffes are notoriously cautious when it comes to having a drink. I waited for what seemed like an age to be able to snap this reflective photo of a beautiful giraffe in one of its most vulnerable moments.

‘A Floral Shelter’
I love exploring Lamington National Park, especially when it’s raining. These conditions bring out all sorts of fascinating creatures, with the red-eyed tree frog being one of my favourites. I sometimes find them on Cunjevoi plants, which they use for protection and finding food.
